Flexible, Convenient Schedules.

As as working parent, I need a flexible curriculum that works with my busy schedule. Metropolitan College offers evening, online, and weekend courses. The evening block scheduling allows me to attend two classes twice a week. Their seven week terms enable me to move through the curriculum at a quicker pace than traditional semester timeframes. The professors have been wonderful. They are approachable and have helped me adjust to the college process. Thanks to Metropolitan College, I am earning my degree in Criminology which will add to my skills and experience in Human Resources and enable me to progress in my career at a commercial security management firm.

A Real World Curriculum.

I have always wanted to own my own business. I knew that to achieve that goal I needed to earn my undergraduate degree so I would have the skills and knowledge to make the business successful. The Adult Degree program at Metropolitan College allows me to continue working while I earn my degree. I was concerned about returning to college and navigating that process, but the Dean and her staff have made things smooth for me. I like attending classes with other working adults.

Charlotte Chamber

Metropolitan College and the Charlotte Chamber are partnering to meet the needs of business owners, especially those located in the NorthWest Corridor. Metropolitan College is hosting the chamber’s northwest chapter for six monthly meetings in 2011, and featuring speakers at those events on topics of interest to business owners and entrepreneurs. Metropolitan College waives the registration fee for the Adult Undergraduate Degree program for all chamber members and employees’ of chamber members. The accelerated program includes undergraduate majors in Business Administration, Social Work and Criminology. All general education requirements for most majors can be met through evening courses. Charlotte Knights

Metropolitan College partnered with the Charlotte Knights during the 2010 season to introduce Knights fans to the college and its Adult Degree Programs. Fans were able to stop by the Metropolitan College concourse exhibit and get information about the undergraduate degrees including the accelerated evening schedules available for Business, Social Work and Criminology majors. Evening courses are available for general education requirements for a variety of other degrees as well. College recruiters answered questions and helped interested prospects begin the application process. The combination of Metropolitan College and the Charlotte Knights makes a winning team!

Clean Air Works!

Metropolitan College participates in the Clean AIr Works program to engage students, faculty, staff, and community members in efforts to improve air quality in the Charlotte Region. Metropolitan College sponsored a Clean Air Day on November 8, 2010 where participants were offered free gas cap checks, information on Lynxx, commuter passes, and bus routes. Participants were also provided with a carpool matching map so they could find potential carpool partners.
