The Doula Training Program is back

Johnson C. Smith University’s Metropolitan College of Professional Studies, under the Health and Human Performance Department, is pleased to announce new dates for the Doula Training. The program will be held at JCSU on September 14th and 15th from 8 am to 4 pm. Light breakfast, lunch, and supplies are included in the cost of the training.

The program will consist of sixteen hours of birth doula training, with childbirth education online prior to the start of the training. In addition to hands-on skills, participants will learn anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, fetal development, labor, postpartum, and breastfeeding.

Preferably, the applicants should have have prior experience assisting with births, are familiar with the birthing process or would have attended a childbirth education class before. The class capacity is limited to twenty students. Seating will be given based on received payment.

The investment is $525 for the general public and $400 for college students. The payment deadline is September 9, 2019 and can be made in person or online. The JCSU Cashier Office is available 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday in Biddle Hall (3rd floor). For online payment, please click here.
