Dr. Melita Pope Mitchell named one of the most influential African Americans in Union County

Please join us as we celebrate Dr. Melita Pope Mitchell’s recognition by the Union County Weekly as one of the twenty one most influential African American leaders in Union County.

Dr. Mitchell serves at Johnson C. Smith University as Assistant Dean and Director of Adult Degree Programs at Metropolitan College of Professional Studies and is highly involved in multiple initiatives for the advancement of people and the community.

In her role as President of the Union County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Dr. Mitchell and members are dedicated to strengthening the community through leadership and service, guided by the sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

*Economic Development

*Educational Development

*International Awareness and Involvement

*Physical and Mental Health

*Political Awareness and Involvement
